About This Grant
The Western Maryland Consortium pays all costs — including wages, workers' compensation, and taxes — for an eligible worker to train at an employer's job site for six weeks before being hired. This lets employers evaluate workers before committing to a permanent hire. After the training period, the employer agrees to hire the employee permanently pending satisfactory evaluation. In some cases, Work Experience can be combined with On-the-Job Training. Assistance type: subsidy.
