About This Grant
The Rural VFD Insurance Program is a grant program designed to reimburse eligible fire departments for firefighter insurance from private insurance companies. Eligible coverage includes any combination of compensation insurance (workers’ compensation, AD&D, group term life, etc.). The program currently reimburses 100% of the actual cost of eligible insurance coverage, up to a maximum of $220 per insured firefighter.
